Casper

Pet Type: Dog
Looking for a new home.

Handsome little Casper has found himself back in the care of the Rainbow Centre, due to his new owners having an unforeseen allergic reaction.

Casper is a Terrier x aged approx 4-6 years old. He originally came into our care as a stray from the Culmore area and was sadly never reclaimed by his owner. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people. However, when he gets used to people, he is an extremely fun and affectionate little guy. He absolutely loves his walks and enjoys having a good run around and a sniff. He loves to explore. Casper also enjoys relaxing in a nice cosy bed after his walks. He is a cheeky, playful and energetic dog, who loves a good chase and a bit of mischief - he’s a real rascal.

Poor Casper found himself a little traumatised after his neutering surgery and since then, we have noticed that he has become more wary of certain situations such as getting into the car for instance, so he can be a little temperamental in these situations. He is very independent and can be stubborn when he really doesn’t want to do something. Due to this, he will require an experienced owner who can deal with this behaviour with patience and understanding, to help build Casper’s confidence again.

Casper would be best suited to an adult-only home as he can get agitated around children. He does get along with most other dogs, so could potentially be rehomed to a house with a dog. He has not been socialised with cats. Casper is house-trained and very tidy with his bedding in his pen.
If interested in offering little Casper his new beginning please visit him at the centre during opening hours 12-4pm Tues - Sun

Adoption Procedure - Dogs

If you are looking to adopt a dog from the Rainbow Rehoming Centre please visit the centre where you can see all of the dogs that are in our care.  Our staff can help determine which is the right dog for you and your family.

Next you will be required to fill out a booking form which is a series of questions to find out if you will be able to look after the dog for its lifetime.  Before any dog leaves the centre a home check is carried out to ensure you have a secure and loving environment for the dog.

Finally, our adoption fee is £100 This adoption fee covers the following:-

  • Worm and de-flea
  • Two vaccinations
  • Neutering
  • Micro chipping

Please Note:

When the Rainbow Rehoming Centre takes in an animal, whether it is a cat, dog, kitten or puppy it is with the intention of finding this animal its forever home. Our commitment to this animal is not temporary though, as even after adoption a Rainbow animal remains a 'Rainbow animal' for life. So if at any time after adoption, whether it is one week, one year or ten years and you find that you cannot take care of your Rainbow pet you must contact us at the centre and your pet will be returned into our care. Under no circumstances should a Rainbow animal be passed on.

If you have any questions regarding the welfare of your pet please contact the Rainbow Centre and we will be glad to help.
